Piazza di Spagna owes its name to the Palace of Spain, home to the embassy of the Iberian State to the Holy See. A Romantic center of nineteenth-century Rome, it immediately assumed a very important commercial role due to the presence of many hotels and houses inhabited by foreigners, attracted to this area by representatives of the Spanish and French governments.
