Piazza Farnese takes its name from the imposing Palazzo Farnese, built for Cardinal Alessandro Farnese by the greatest artists of the time, such as Antonio da Sangallo the Younger, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Jacopo Barozzi known as Vignola and Giacomo Della Porta.
